| a voice from the dormant dusthi. remember me? i know at least two of you do. and only one of those two has a beak. thanks for checking on me, dear travelers. i appreciate it.
things have been... tiring. depressing. i won't go into it. but i wanted to make sure i let you know i am still alive and kicking. i will go away for a couple of weeks, a month or so, soon, for therapy. so if you see / hear even less of me than before, that's why. i don't think i will have internet access there. (wait, therapy? or was that torture? ha ha...)
if you want to keep in touch with me you can message me (through xanga) and we'll see. i have another blog in a different place (under a different name) that i will probably be keeping up more than this one. i think this one may have served its purpose for me for now... and may go into hibernation for a while.
one last thing to say maybe, something poignant and meaningful maybe, something true? poetry rocks my world. literally.

| breakfast heartachei skim the papers while munching my muesli with goatsmilk. i usually do. like today. and today there was an article about how MJ (who for some reason i care about very much) was dying of a protein deficiency that causes lung failure and internal bleeding. it also said he was almost blind and could hardly speak. dagger to my heart. honestly. take away this man´s voice, vision, and ability to move like no other, and what becomes of him? he enjoys these things too much to lose them. if he was an old man, ok, we all get old and our limbs do their own thing etc. but he´s 50.
anyway, the name they gave for their source, - the two names - were suspicious to me. the SUN (british gossip paper not worth the cellulose it´s printed on, and always a naked girl on page 3) is not a good source for information. you´d think other countries´ press would do a little research. anyway. and this halperin dude - look at the titles of his "works" (under siege with britney spears!) - no way. so i was very relieved when i found this statement, although it took longer to find than i had expected. here goes:
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – A spokesman for Michael Jackson released a statement on Monday denying as a "total fabrication" a report claiming that the former King of Pop needs a lung transplant due to a rare respiratory disease. The statement, attributed to Jackson's "official and sole spokesperson, Dr. Tohme Tohme" and issued by Los Angeles firm Scoop Marketing, cites an interview with writer Ian Halperin in British newspaper the Sunday Express in which Halperin said Jackson was suffering from Alpha 1-antitrypsin deficiency. Halperin, who is at work on an unauthorized biography of the singer, also claims Jackson can barely speak, suffers from emphysema and internal bleeding, and has lost 95 percent of the vision in his left eye. "Concerning this author's allegations, we would hope in the future that legitimate media will not continue to be exploited by such an obvious attempt to promote this unauthorized 'biography,'" said the statement attributed to Tohme. "The writer's wild allegations concerning Mr. Jackson's health are a total fabrication," the statement said. "Mr. Jackson is in fine health and finalizing negotiations with a major entertainment company and television network for both a world tour and a series of specials and appearances." Jackson, 50, one of the best-selling recording artists of all time, began his musical career with his siblings in the Motown group the Jackson 5 and went on release such hit solo albums as "Thriller." But the singer has been dogged since the 1990s by scandal and revelations about his eccentric lifestyle. He was tried and acquitted of child sex abuse charges in 2005.
while i kind of wonder if the world tour, specials and appearances will all happen - the man dreams big and i think sometimes he tries to do more than he has strength to do - i find this source more trustworthy than the SUN and a man who makes a living on hyping star scandal. ok it would fit nicely, it would explain the surgical masks he has worn on and off, if his lung was really not well, and a few other things, his paleness (not enough oxygen in the blood gives you a more bluish tint rather than pink or red) and his showing up at court in his PJ. i hope that he really is ok. he has real talent and - there are three kids who need him as a dad.
i am still waiting for his new album that was supposed to come out this year. the demos that have leaked and even the fake "MJ" recordings were mostly really promising. i have listened to all the other albums so much a new album would freshen things up. though "wanna be starting something" will probably still have me tapping my feet when i´m 80! ha ha.
anyway, what are your thoughts, do we get too much information of people´s lives, or are they asking for it, being in the biz? how much do you know or want to know about your favorite artists? where should media draw the line? if some star goes to, say, do some underwear shopping, is this material for the front page? if they are terminally ill, what about that? and if they don´t want people to know? | | |
| not amusing ??? so this morning our cat went for his usual drink from the little pond out back. small problem: the pond had frozen over, so no water. cat sniffs, puts one careful paw on the ice, tests for thickness, then paws 2, 3 and 4 follow. he walks around on the pond, sniffing, and (as every year) amazed. until he gets to the part where the reeds stick out of the ice. and suddenly there's a crack and his rear-end goes into the freezing cold water. hee hee. the rest is the stuff of legends. running with the front paws while shaking the cold off his hindside he justabout makes it back onto dry land. cats can be SO FAST. we get to see this twice a year - when the first real frost comes, and then when it finally thaws. he's what, fifteen? sixteen? apparently that is one thing he just doesn't learn.
